MAUNDY THURSDAY (Mass celebrating the memory of the Last Supper)

10.45AM History was made this year. Benefactors had built a 13 metre cross of St Benedict on top of a hill in our possession. There is much devotion to the St Benedict medal in South America. Today, Bro. Mario and Bro. Juan took our guests on a Via Crucis (Stations of the Cross) on the rather daunting climb up to the top of the hill. It is summer here in Peru, and the sun was doing its best to make their journey difficult; but they were in a mood of joyful penitence. It took an hour and twenty minutes to climb, and just under an hour to descend. I am sure this will be an annual event.
